How can DISCOUNT REALTY charge so little?

After 13 years of questions this one is the most popular. After years of being charged 6% by the real estate industry people to sell a house, people have a hard time believing that a real estate company can charge a low fee. Of course, the answer is volume. If you give a great service with great price you will have many customers.

How successful has Discount Realty been?

DISCOUNT REALTY started in 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the beginning the listings were few and hard to obtain. Calling on "For Sale by Owners" was the only way to solicit listings. DISCOUNT REALTY was one voice telling the public that there was a different way to sell Real Estate. There are at least 13,000 other real estate agents in town telling every seller that they had to pay 5, 6, or 7% commission in order to sell their home.

After 3 years the word had spread. No more outgoing solicitation calls. Now the phone rings all day with questions and appointments.

Can I find a buyer on my own and save on commissions?

DISCOUNT REALTY realizes that no one wants to sell your home more than you. So, why shouldn't you help find a buyer and why shouldn't you be rewarded if you do. If you find a buyer with your own effort, you do not pay a 3% commission to anyone. For $1295, DISCOUNT REALTY will write the offer and oversee the entire transaction.

How long does it take to sell homes?

All homes sell--eventually. There are two key factors to selling homes. Exposure to the market and the price needs to be market value. The M.L.S. has been used for over 30 years. It is the tool that real estate agents use to find property. There are three ways to price a property. 1. How much money do you have into the property? 2. How much money do you want to get out? 3. Then, of course, the only way. What is the market value? Now, the timing answer. The seller has complete control of the price until it sells or hold on until prices go up to meet your price.

How long does it take to get my house on the local MLS system and how long does it stay there?

Your property will be on the MLS within 24 hours after meeting your agent. Your property will remain on the MLS for one year or until you sell or cancel. You may extend your listing after the one year for free for as long as you like.

What is the MLS?

The MLS (Multiple Listing Service) is a computer data base of all the local agent's listings (properties for sale). Before computers, books were printed every 2 weeks. Now when a property changes status (sold, pending, for sale) or changes price, everyone has access to the information instantly.

Real estate agents put buyers parameters into the computer and search for the right property. If your property matches these parameters.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

You may cancel the listing at any time for any reason. This is useful if you change your mind and want to rent instead of sell.

If I cancel the MLS, how much does it cost to reinstate?

The charge to reinstate your listing is $110.
